MDT Moderna Dansteatern's four-day, site-specific festival unfolded across different locations on the island of Skeppsholmen, both indoors and outdoors, 4th–7th of June, 2026.
This year's curatorial framework was partly a response to the cancellation of the Nordic dance platform Ice Hot, postponed due to economic and cultural-political instability. We felt it was a shame to lose the opportunity to gather and give visibility to the local field, and decided to create our own version. This year, we therefore shone a spotlight on the local dance scene, presenting several of MDT's co-productions from 2025. We also added two exciting international guest performances to the mix and continued the tradition of our very own cabaret, Wallmans Ballonger.
And if we may, holding dearly to any certainty we can, we are very sure that Lustholmen offers works with a generous measure of mischief, humour, sensuality, integrity and resilience, sometimes all at once.
